90% of hand mixers look like this
I interviewed three people who had some form of joint pain and ranging in age from 21 to 45.
"The angle of the handle puts a lot of stress on my wrist when i'm using the hand mixer"
"The vibrations from the motor make the mixer hard to grip and create pain in my hand"
"Hand mixers are often too heavy for me to hold or they are not balanced"
A form analysis showed the design language of mixers. I will keep this in mind while ideating so my design fits in.
I wanted my hand mixer to be aesthetic when not in use so I was inspired by objects that are designed to be set on tables as art more than products.
While ideating, I tried to find a balance between a form fitting for users with arthritis and those without. I landed on a form that appeals to everyone.
too ergonomic looking
dislike the square form
better form direction
nice organic form
